FAIRFIELD, CA, Nov. 3, 2011 --- The world's first stop-motion music video to feature more than a quarter of a million Jelly Belly® jelly beans debuted Wednesday, bringing a new meaning to the term "eye candy." Singer/songwriter Kina Grannis launched the video, featuring her single
"In Your Arms," to a sold-out crowd at Los Angeles' Largo Theater. The video features Grannis singing in front of and interacting with intricate and elaborate scenes created entirely out of Jelly Belly beans. This ambitious assignment took director Greg Jardin and his crew nearly two years to complete because every one of the 288,000 Jelly Belly beans were placed by hand.
This one-of-a-kind video used 47 different flavors of Jelly Belly beans to build eye candy scenes that included Coconut snow-topped mountains and Strawberry Cheesecake birds, to name a few. The animation was captured using 2,460 frames of film and took the crew 1,357 hours to complete. The end result intertwines the colorful and playful Jelly Belly beans with Grannis' beauty and fresh voice.
